Polacrillin Potassium is available in white free flowing powder hence it is
more suitable in direct compression system.
Polacrillin Potassium is a very high purity polymer
finding use in Pharmaceutical formulation as a superb TABLET DISINTEGRANT
for oral dosage formulations.
Required quantity is form 0.4% to 2% of avg. Weight
of tablet on lubrication stage.

has a very high swelling tendency on hydration either in contact with water
or G.I. Fluids causing fast disintegration without the formation of lumps

HOW TO USE POLACRILLIN POTASSIUM IN DIRECT
For direct compression system, prepare drug granules
with P.V.P. Or HPMC and avoiding use of starch or gelling binder.In these
granules ,mix polacrillin potassium first and then mix lubricants. Prepare
the tablet and put it in water or G.I. Fluid. Polacrillin Potassium absorbs
water and break the tablet. A Ranitidine Hydrochloride tablet direct
compression system was carried out to evalute the disintegration effect of
Polacrillin Potassium in Comparison with cross P.V.P. And Cross Carmellose
Sodium Using 1% the results are shown in figure
